How the hell does Martin Lawrence keep picking up $20 million paychecks when his movies tank back-to-back? Look at the disturbing trend:
"College Road Trip" Paycheck: $20 million
"Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" Paycheck: $20 million
"Big Mommas House 2" Paycheck: $20 million
"Rebound" Paycheck: $20 million
"National Security" Paycheck: $20 million
"Black Knight" Paycheck: $12 million
Besides the greenlit "Wild Hogs 2", Martin hasn't been on top of anyone's A-list in recent years, so he's developing a movie with an idea he came up with all by himself called "Back To Africa".
The comedy centers on a working-class man from Queens who discovers he is heir to the throne of an African country and travels there to claim his birthright.
Didn't Eddie go to Queens in "Coming To America?"
Didn't we see this before in "King Ralph" with John Goodman?
How about "Princess Diaries 2" with Anne Hathaway?
I can only guess that Martin will travel to Africa and hijinks will ensue; damn it all to hell if there isn't a lion involved and Martin screaming "DAAAAYUM!!!"
Soon Martin will ripoff all of Eddie's misses, too...
Martin Lawrence rips off Eddie Murphy (again) with "Back To Africa"

Why does Martin have to be ripping off Eddie Murphy? Eddie doesn't own the right to play a certain role a certain way.Actors have been using reverse plot lines and similar roles for years. And at least another Black actor is working and getting paid. YOU GO BOY!!!
He's not ripping off Eddie Murphy. In Murphy's movie he was a African prince trying to adapt to being a NY resident versus Lawrence being a NY resident trying to adapt to being a African prince. Small difference but makes for a totally different experience. Will they be similar maybe but not a rip off.
