Did you know Kirk Cameron was in FIREPROOF? ~ BAD ACTING | MOVIES | BAD ACTORS - CELEBRITY OUTHOUSE

Did you know Kirk Cameron was in FIREPROOF?

I didn't know that Fireproof even came out in theaters last week until I saw the box office.

Whenever a washed up child actor is in a major motion picture, you just know that they believe it's his or her comeback pic. In other words, it's a chance at not winding up on the Hollywood Video shelf. And in this case, Kirk Cameron should be praising the Lord (pun intended) because it made pretty damn good box office.

The Christianity themed movie was made for $500,000 distributed by Sherwood Pictures, a Christian church group.

Out of the $500,000 Kirk was probably paid $2.50 and given a lifetime supply of wafers and Juicy Juice.

In all seriousness, the movie debuted with $6 million at the box office last weekend in 4th place, from only 800+ theaters! This shows me one thing - that the Christian Church still has faith (no pun intended) in Kirk Cameron's acting.

The movie also beat out Angry Spike Lee's Miracle At St. Anna, which debuted in 9th place with $3.4 million in 1,100 theaters...You do the math.

The film is also receiving positive reception from Church groups. According to Christianity Today, "At the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Indianapolis, between 3,000 and 4,000 people saw the film, with many standing during the closing credits, applauding the movie's focus on a biblical view of marriage."

Should we cue the emotional music? No, we need to cue this song:

  1. I just got back from watching Fireproof... the over all message was solid for sure; it was great to see such a different-flavored movie on the regular, big screen
