Natalie Portman, whether everyone agees or not, is a terrible actress. She easily has the worst lines in all 3 of the new Star Wars films, seeing her bald in V for Vendetta really wasnt anything special and that movie where she plays the underage pregnant mom with Susan Sarandon..."forgettable" is close enough to the right word. I don't count The Professional because she was like 14 and that movie is great.
After her string of performances that no one ever talks about, she is finally doing what is needed to drop her down to shit-actor level...Starring in a music video. There is nothing better than exchanging silverscreen for the cheap-generic MTV/21st century horror movie look (We all know what this looks like...Example: Texas Chainsaw 2003 Remake, Gone In Sixty Seconds, Fast and The Furious, Swordfish, Saw, Saw II, etc.).
According to various sources, Natalie will star in her boyfriends music video. A known actress in a shitty bands music video is the right move for her to start appearing in straight to DVD movies(even though shes currently working on like 10 studio films). Hollywood has ran out of talented actresses but they are quick to hire the same ones over and over again, to the point where they just aren't believable in their characters (actors too). The Darjeeling Limited film from last year focused on her ass, which seems to be the only important feature of her character and provided a new/welcomed direction for the actress...
Maybe she would be up for the lead part in the upcoming Red Sonja remake, so they can give her terrible dialogue that is covered up by focusing on her running around half-naked the entire film.
Just from this photo, would you say "No" to Natalie if she wanted to star in your movie?
I am waiting for the day when I can leave a movie theater and say "That was a great performance from that actress." I cant remember the last time I did that...
Erin Brockovich, Boys Dont Cry and Monsters Ball are 2 star movies hyped by the same people that would allow Cat Woman with Halle Berry to be made. Julia Roberts, Hillary Swank and especially Halle Berry do not make the top actress list any day of the week.
